It has suddenly occurred to me that it is really not normal for a city to change radically as New York has within the short span of the last two decades. That is much less than one lifetime for the average person today. This is not cool.
It's not normal for NY to get safer or cleaner, either. Thankfully it's still pretty grimy and menacing. No one but the very old remembers it any other way.
lol well, personally, I'm not that old, but remember NYC as a third world country lol. I was born and raised in NYC, so maybe that's the reason. :)
