What are you?
Current New Yorker
What is your relationship to New York?
I've lived in NYC for 10 years, and as a performer it's the only place to be, but in the last couple years the anger and hostility and lack of common decency and respect on a daily basis has started to weigh on me more and more, and I honestly just want to live in a place where I can be happy again. The problem is- where is there an arts community where I can work and participate in as a professional as I do here- but in a happier setting?

I've noticed the similar trend in NYC after returning 2.5 years ago after 4 years away. The city's feeling has changed dramatically, I don't grasp it any more. A sense of belonging here has been damaged. Or, maybe, try to change your attitude to it. The city is changing, for the worse or better, depends for who, but it's changing and we are changing too.
